“If you’re visiting Koh Tao and want to try scuba diving for the first time, this program is designed for you.
Many divers start their journey with a try dive before continuing to a full certification course like the PADI Open Water Diver“.
What is Discover Scuba Diving?
PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is a beginner experience program, not a certification course.
You’ll be guided step-by-step by a professional PADI Instructor, learning:
- How scuba equipment works
- Basic underwater skills
- How to breathe and move comfortably underwater
Then you’ll head out on the dive boat for your first real ocean dive.

🕘 Morning Session (09:00 – 11:00)
- Meet your instructor
- Learn the basics of scuba diving
- Equipment introduction
- Practice essential skills in shallow water (pool session)
🚤 Afternoon Dive Trip (12:30 Departure)
- Boat trip to a local dive site
- Guided dive on a coral reef
- Maximum depth: 12 meters
- Dive time: 40–50 minutes
🌊 Optional Second Dive (14:30)
- Continue exploring with a second dive
or - Relax on the boat or go snorkeling

Is Discover Scuba Diving safe?
Yes. You will be closely supervised by a certified PADI Instructor at all times, with a maximum of 4 divers per instructor.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Basic swimming ability is recommended, but you don’t need to be an expert swimmer. Let us know your comfort level when you arrive.
Will I get certified after this program?
No, Discover Scuba Diving is an experience only. If you enjoy it, you can continue with the PADI Open Water Course.
How deep will I go?
The maximum depth is 12 meters, always under direct instructor supervision.
Can I do a second dive?
Yes. You can choose to do a second dive for an additional 1,500 THB.
